Updates

Hello All,
Wow it's Week 5 and we have been really busy learning some awesome things.  We have the Meet the Teacher/Parent Evening on Thursday 7th March from 6pm to 7.15pm and we are looking forward to meeting you all.   On Friday 8th March, the Year 6 students will be going to Omana Beach looking at our coastlines and looking at HOW POLLUTION affects our shores. 
On Monday the 11th of March, Room 26 will be hosting the School Assembly, we look forward to seeing you all there.
In Writing, we have been focusing on writing Mountain and Sea Adventures.  We are studying Measurement for strand in Mathematics. We have been learning to measure the length and width of objects using the correct units, calculating the area and perimeter of shapes.  We have also been estimating the length and width of objects then measuring the objects. 

COMIC STRIPS USING IPADS

The Giraffes Reading Group created some awesome Comic Strips using IPADS on some of the stories and articles that they read.

                                                 

Welcome to Room 26's Awesome Blog 2013

Welcome to our classroom blog.  We are a lovely class of 26 children and our teacher is Mrs Prasad.
The value for this term is being Polite, Considerate and Sensible.  We are learning about Self Esteem in Inquiry Learning.  Keep visiting our blog each week and please feel free to post a comment.  We look forward to your comments.

Term 4 Updates

Hello All,
Wow we have been working extremely well and enjoying all the fantastic activities.  On Thursday we had our Senior Swimming Sports Day at Papatoetoe Swimming Pools.  We all had a great time and got some great results:)
We have been very busy practicing for our Fantastic Senior Christmas Show next week on Wednesday 12th December at 1.45pm.  We looking forward to seeing you all there.

The groovy and talented Year 6 students will perform a dance and sing to Justin Bieber's Mistletoe song and to Jingle Bell Rock.

On Thursday 13th December, we have a special Year 6 Graduation Dinner for all the Year 6 students. 

Tuesday the 18th of December is our last and final day at PCS.  It will be our special Graduation Ceremony at 11.45am.

OUR FANTASTIC CAMP AT CAREY PARK

Wow on Monday 19th November 2012, the awesome Year 6 students went to Carey Park in Henderson for a week.  We all had an amazing experience and really enjoyed ourselves.
Here are the list of the cool and fun activities that we participated in.  We did lots of exciting activities in activity groups throughout the week.

- Air Rifles
- Archery
- River Games
-Outdoor cooking where we made delicious piklets with maple syrup:)

On Monday we went for a long and tiring bush walk where it was very challenging, slippery and fun.
In the evening we played some great games with the Carey Park Instructors.
On Tuesday we completed four activities followed by a lovely movie night while we watched Yogi Bear.
On Wednesday we completed three activities followed by a nice and warm Camp Fire Night where we roasted pink, creamy and tasty marshmallows.  Mrs Gwilliam and the other staff members from PCS visited us for the day and joined in with us:)
On Thursday, we completed the final three activities.  After that, we continued practicing our items for Concert Night in the evening.  We performed magic tricks, skits, sound effects, dances and sang songs.  The teachers did a super performance for us too.  It was fantastic to see our parents and caregivers there for the special night.
Sadly and finally on Friday, we cleaned and packed up to return to PCS.  It was such an amazing experience for us all and we were very lucky to get this opportunity.  

Many thanks to all the parents and the teachers who took care of us.  We really appreciate it.
It was such a memorable way to end our Primary Education.
