Hello All,
Room 26 are working very hard and learning lots of new and exciting new things. Well done to the amazing effort that all the children did selling the juicies for Camp fundraising. Thank you all for your ongoing support, it is much appreciated.
Some important dates to remember are the:
Meet the Parent and Teacher Evening in Week 5 on Thursday 6th of March at 6pm to 7.15pm. Looking forward to seeing you all there.
In Room 26, we get homework on Monday and set of spelling words to learn. Homework is due on Friday and our spelling tests are on Friday.
We are expected to read 15 minutes each night and practice our basic facts daily.
In Maths we have been learning to solve addition and subtraction equations using various methods which are using the following strategies:
1. Rounding and Compensating
2. Using Place Value
3. Adding and subtracting in tens
4. Adding the ones and tens
In Reading, we are learning to use and apply our visual cues when reading a text. We are learning to create a mental picture or paint a picture of what is happening in a text.
We are learning to write Arguments for Writing. This week we have been focusing to write an Argument on the debate on whether We should have zoos and should animals be caged?
We are able to include the following when writing Arguments:
Begin with an opening statement and discuss the main key points and end with a conclusion.
Write in the present tense.
Include specialised vocabulary in our writing.
Use connectives to sequence the order of events together for e.g Firstly, Secondly, Thirdly and Finally.
