PCS Talent Show 2015

The PCS Talent Show was another success this year, thanks to all the amazing performers, the Student Council and Mrs Nand! It was a spectacular show and definitely a highlight in 2015. You are all STARS. Lanijane, Raeleigh, Raeolyn and Nathanael were the stars of Rm 26 and we are so very proud of all of you - you all rocked!!

This years Talent Show was a blast! Raeleigh, Raeolyn, Nathaneal and I were very delighted when we all made it in, and we were even more luckier to perform in front of a massive audience. When I called Raeleigh on the phone to discuss what we were going to wear, I came up with a decent idea of wearing sequins on our face. We both thought the idea was Kool with a capital K (Isn't it C).
On the day Raeleigh turned up beautiful, I told her that she sort of looked like Catwoman and she finished that sentence of with a 'Meow.' We walked to the hall, as we entered half of the student councilors were running around trying to sort everything out and soon, I joined in. When the Talent Show started, I started getting butterflies in my stomach, I was sooooo nervous. Amber, Sandeep, Lexie and me were the announcers. I had 5 speeches (only because I was doing 2 performances as well).
Raeleigh and my dance was 16th and my singing was 4th to last, this is where I had something special tucked up my sleeve. Finally our time to shine came, I danced my heart out and I could see Raeleigh was too. I did muddle up one move but eventually I got over it. Our song finished and I ran into the back door to do a quick change. I slipped my other clothes on and rushed back outside just in time to announce one of my speaking parts.
After a couple of performances it was my turn to perform my 2nd act, which was a song. When I sang I caught some people a  bit tearful which made me tear a bit as well. I felt good about both of my performances and I was grateful that I had made it in to both acts.

P.S. Well Done to all the performers this year! =)

Gymnastics Zones 2015

The annual school gymnastics zones was held yesterday (Tuesday 22 September) at Gym City in Papatoetoe. Well done to Raeleigh, our sole class representative from Room 26 who tried her very best and did fantastically well in her individual events. We're very proud of you Raeleigh!

23/09/15
Yesterday was the Papatoetoe primary schools Gymnastics zones and it was held at Papatoetoe Gym City. As we entered the gym I was feeling so so nervous. We did a few minutes of warming up and then we got straight into it. Our first activity was the volt. For me, I especially had butterflies in my tummy because I was up first. Next was our beam and this time I wasn't so nervous. As I was on the beam I was fine and I had nothing to worry about. Finally it was time for our floor and I was also up first and once again I had done everything exactly how I had practiced and had a lot of confidence in me. All our hard work had paid of as I had come 1st in beam, 1st in floor and 2nd in volt out of the year 6 Papatoetoe central girls. A special thank you to our gymnastics coaches Miss Hanson and Miss Fok.

Cross Country Zones 2015

Interschool Cross Country took place at Puhunui Reserve in Manukau today (Tuesday 15 September). Our PCS team have been training hard for the last few weeks but it was a grueling track. Everyone tried their best and had fun. Well done to all the participants especially those who got a placing this year and fantastic coaching and support from Mr Robinson and Mr Singh. Here are the athletes that competed from Room 26: Trinity, Raeleigh, Shrejal, Raeolyn, Alisha and Anna - we are all very proud of you!

We had finally arrived at Puhunui Reserve and I was nervous. The field was massive full of farm animals. While I was running my shoe got stuck in a large mud puddle and it was sinking in the mud but luckily I got it out. The place I got was 45 and I am proud of what I got. Even though I'm not a runner, cross country gave me the courage to become a runner.

Just as we got to Puhunui Reserve I could not stop my teeth chattering as I got outside  but we finally made it at the end. All my hard work made me come 67th. Some downsides were when my shoes got stuck in the mud but I was still proud of myself.

My first year of Cross Country was a great experience. I was feeling very scared, nervous and at the same time excited. A special thanks to our awesome Cross Country coaches Mr Robinson and Mr Singh for their amazing coaching.
